Sitka Scenery Readme file.

A guide for the installation of the 'DC-3 Airways Hangar' in FS2004 (FS9). Note that this Scenery is produced for FS2004 (FS9) and will not operate propery in FS2002.

If you are unfamiliar with the procedure required for installing 'Add-on Scenery' to your Flight Simulator please follow these simple instructions.

Before you commence any scenery additions you must first ensure that your Flight Simulator is not running.

The installation of the Sitka scenery will completley replace the stock buildings at Sitka with GMax produced objects and textures made from photo's of the actual buildings. The layout as well, with the exception of the runway, has been re-done with AFCAD2 to more closely resemble the airfield as of 2004.

Installation. FS2004

 1. If you do not already have an area where you are storing new scenery files then it is suggested that you create a New Folder on your main drive, probably C, and call it, for instance, Simulator Scenery. (This folder name can be any name you choose and can be located anywhere on your hard drive). You only have to remember where it is. Many use the AD-ON SCENERY folder within FS9.

 2. Download the new scenery file to a Temporary folder of your choice. Since you are reading this you will likely already have done this.

 3. Unzip the downloaded Zip file, "Sitka.zip" into the same Temporary folder. A folder called Sitka will be created.

 4. Copy the complete "Sitka" folder and paste it into the Simulator Scenery Folder that you created on your C Drive, or to the location you have chosen.

Activation

 1. Start FS2004.

 2. The first panel that appears has an entry at the bottom left called 'SETTINGS'. Click on this.

 3. At the bottom-left of the panel that appears is a button labeled: 'Scenery Library ...' Click on this.

 5. In the 'SETTINGS - SCENERY LIBRARY' panel click on 'Add Area'.

 6. A panel called 'Select Scenery Directory' will appear. You now need to navigate to the Simulator Scenery folder that you installed. Click on the 'Sitka' folder once only, the path to which will then appear in the box called Directory. Ignore the option to rename the file.

 7. Click on 'OK'.

 8. The new Sitka scenery will now appear on the list as number 1. If the 'Enabled' box at the left is empty, click on it to enable the scenery.

 9. Click on 'OK'.

 10. Now close down the simulator.

 11. When you next start FS2004 the Sitka scenery will appear at all the listed locations.

Enjoy............
